Uveitis (উভাইটিস)
Inflammation of the Uveal Tract
Uveitis is the inflammation of the uvea, the middle layer of the eye, which includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid.
It can cause redness, pain, light sensitivity, blurred vision, and floaters. If untreated, uveitis may lead to permanent vision loss.
উভাইটিস হলো চোখের উভিয়া (মধ্যস্ত স্তর: আইরিস, সিলিয়ারি বডি ও কোরয়েড) এর প্রদাহ।
এর ফলে চোখ লাল হওয়া, ব্যথা, আলোতে সংবেদনশীলতা, ঝাপসা দেখা এবং ফ্লোটার্স দেখা দিতে পারে। সময়মতো চিকিৎসা না করলে দৃষ্টিশক্তি নষ্ট হতে পারে।
✅ Types of Uveitis / উভাইটিসের ধরন
- Anterior Uveitis (Iritis) – চোখের সামনের অংশে প্রদাহ
- Intermediate Uveitis – ভিট্রিয়াসে প্রদাহ
- Posterior Uveitis – রেটিনা ও কোরয়েডে প্রদাহ
- Panuveitis – উভিয়ার সব অংশে প্রদাহ

- Autoimmune or inflammatory disorders (যেমন রিউমাটয়েড আর্থ্রাইটিস, সারকয়েডোসিস)
- Infections (যেমন টিবি, হারপিস, টক্সোপ্লাজমোসিস)
- Eye trauma or surgery
- Systemic diseases

- Fundus Examination / Color Fundus Photography (CFP)
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
- Blood tests & systemic evaluation
✅ Treatment / চিকিৎসা
- Corticosteroid eye drops or oral medication
- Immunosuppressive therapy (for chronic or severe cases)
- Treatment of underlying systemic disease
- Regular follow-up to prevent complications (glaucoma, cataract, retinal damage)
⚠️ Important / সতর্কতা: Uveitis is potentially sight-threatening if not treated promptly.
Early diagnosis and proper management are essential to prevent permanent vision loss.
